Caress Brazilian Exotic Oil Infusions Body Wash

I love a great lathering in the shower. I mean who doesn’t? Add the little moisturizing goodness of oil and you have Caress’ new line of Brazilian Body washes. They smell absolutely beautiful and exotic and add great moisture to the body. The body wash is a unique fusion of cream and oil with a blend of sweet passion flower and acai fruit oil.

It silkens the skin as well as leaves you with a beautiful healthy sheen. Not like some other body washes that leave you feeling greasy or oily. It also has a very rich consistency making it glide on smoothly while it enlivens your entire body. After your bath or shower you can apply moisturizer if necessary without feeling over moisturized at all. Another great find for the girl looking to bring the spa to her own shower!

Good In Bed? Prescriptives Gets Naughty

Back in the saddle with a desk full of product just waiting to be opened and what did I choose as my first review? Good In Bed skin restoring night moisturizer by Prescriptives leaves you with the “morning after” glow. Of course I was drawn to this product by its risque name and was completely “satisfied” with the results. It is simply a multi purpose, luxurious treatment. The nourishing emollient helps replenish skin while subtle tanners work to enhance your natural colors. The scent is pleasant and my skin felt completely soft and moisturized in the morning. After a few days use I found I was using less makeup because my face was slightly tanned with a very natural look. A great product with great results. Hey with a very little effort you could be Good in Bed too!

Falling In Love All Over Again

I’ve been enjoying the baby for the past two weeks since he’s been home but I must admit some beauty withdrawal. I simply love and adore him and want to spend as much time with him and my family but duty calls. Today is Junior Prom day and I have a few girls who must have their hair and makeup done so it’s back to business. Figures I would book my first back to work clients on prom night. Not too much pressure!

I have a stack of product I’m meaning to get to and share my reviews so stay tuned. I’m putting up a new poll later today I hope you will vote in. I’m looking to attract more visitors and feedback and was hoping to get some help from you all. I already belong to a few fun networks but I really must say, as a working Mom of 3 and full-time homemaker, just keeping up with my own blog is a lot of work. I love being a part of such networks like the Mom Blog Network and thebeautyblognetwork (links below) but just keeping up with those is difficult. So in order to keep myself involved and interested in blogging I’m looking for some reader feedback. I don’t want this to be a job – I want it to be fun and of course profitable for both you and me. There are so many awesome blogs out there with a ton of content and reviews that I’m working on a different angle. Something a little more engaging and hopefully intriguing!

So, I’ve fallen in love again with my littlest guy and looking to fall in love again with my MissTrendyGirl blog. Hope you’ll help!

The little bundle of joy has arrived!

The baby has arrived and we are both doing well. I am very much looking forward to getting back to work in the next few weeks as there is much to be done. I have many new products, tools and tricks to share so I will be very busy trying and typing away! I would like to thank all who have sent me and my family well wishes at this exciting time. I am lucky to be part of such a caring community!

40 Weeks – Preganancy & Some Much Needed Beauty Rest

Well this is the end of the road. Any day now we expect him to arrive. It’s been a great pregnancy and thanks for all the positive wishes and patience while we’re in the home stretch here. I use the term “stretch” because there is no way I can possibly stretch anymore! I’ve been quiet on the posting front for a while since there’s just nothing creative lately coming from my brain. I’m just enjoying the last few hours/days of being pregnant. I still get up everyday and enjoy my beauty routine more than ever. Of course there’s a few more added steps and the additional 10-15 minutes I need to spend on it because I’m too exhausted to move some mornings. The sleep deprivation really starts to kick in after a few days. I’m not really complaining at all and I am so lucky I can take the extra time. So I do and make sure I am in “full pregnancy glow” all day long.

Above all, there’s one heavenly product that I must share for all the Mommies and Mommies to be out there. Palmer’s Just for Moms Skin Care Gift Set is one of the best things you can receive at a shower or just for being a Mommy. Let me tell you this kit is wondrous. First of all, big, stretched bellies (sounds painful huh?) need lots of comfort and the cocoa butter soothing oil is relief in liquid form. Spray it on and the itchiness, dryness and topical pain melts away. It is that good. The cream and lotion for the stretch marks is soothing and pleasant too. I’m sure any good hydrating cream or lotion will help with stretch marks if you encounter any but you know how I love to layer and stay scent-coordinated!

So, any day now. Wish me luck and hopefully in the very near future this Mommy will be getting some much needed beauty rest. Let’s hope he’s a sleeper!

I’m Not Getting Green But I Do Support It

organic makeup, natural makeupI was walking down the aisle the other day (not THAT aisle! Did that 13 wonderful years ago) and noticed a lot more brands and lines going “green”. Organic, natural ingredients are great but packaging and retail displays are a bit too “green” for me lately. I know it isn’t the neon 80’s or Goth/grunge 90’s but since the mainstream blowout of cosmetics and Sephoras popping up in every major mall in America we’ve been accustomed to girly pinks and psycho purples with an always-edgy design. I just see a bunch of brands getting on the latest bandwagon and going in a much more conservative design direction. Part of the appeal that attracts us to brands and colors is in the packaging.

Natural ingredients, Earth friendly packaging and environmentally aware cosmetics have existed for years. I love that and support those companies and their initiatives even though their Execs don’t all drive hybrids. But do we have to have recycled cardboard, leafy green and tree bark brown displays and packaging? Sure MAC, Hard Candy, Too Faced and others won’t completely conform because it goes against what made them stand out in the first place but there are so many popular brands whose Marketing Departments may be losing some loyal buyers because they are putting eco-friendly Marketing tactics in front of what their product’s core purpose is. At the risk of making their products look too drab.

Admittedly I’m not the poster child for environmentally conscious cosmetologists but I do look out for safe, non-animal tested, biodegradable, natural and Earth-friendly products. Also I’m not against any of these products at all. All I’m saying is I don’t like the new “green” marketing push and package design. If there’s a color or product I choose to use and the manufacturer doesn’t go “green” design I’m still buying it. How about you?

Stila Hair Refresher, Creme Bouquet

Many of my clients have complained of their hair becoming “oily” and limp throughout the day. I have tried many products that claim to be the thing for limpness but I really love Stila’s. The Stila Hair Refresher, available in two scents, Creme Bouquet and Jade Blossom is a hair refreshing, oil absorbing powder that gets shaken onto the root and just disappears into the scalp. There’s no caking or residue to deal with. Many people have usedĀ talcumĀ or baby powder for the same purpose but I shy away from that due to the flour-like mess it could make. Stila’s Hair Refresher is the perfect product for those people who believe they must shampoo every day to avoid looking greasy at the root. I am a firm believer in shampooing every other day, especially color or chemically treated hair. This product makes that possible for everyone. Stila Hair Refresher even helps add volume to limp hair with a warm, sweet scent. If you are someone who’s locks need a lift at the root give this one a shake!

pop beauty Rose Belle

The new Rose Belle by pop beauty is a high pigment silky powder that has many uses. I tried it once and knew it was a keeper. It is an 8-color palette containing every hue you could possibly want or need to create any flattering and glowing look. You can either use each color solo or using a large brush to blend them together for an overall bronzed look. When I was sampling the product I used the left side separately as eye shadows and mixed the right side for bronzing and highlighting. I then used the darkest pink for a blush and mixed the lightest pink on my finger with a clear gloss on my lips. This product is exclusive to Sephora and is priced at $28. It has many uses that it is worth every penny. The shades are universally flattering and are made of Mica, a lustrous high shine pigment that has skin soothing properties. All eight colors in one package add liner and mascara and go! I love this one and will be ordering another for backup.

Thumbs Down to Dove Cream Oil

I was really looking forward to trying this product when I saw the commercial on television. The Dove Cream Oil Intensive Body Lotion looked like a great option for my season changing dry skin but I was very disappointed. I did not like the smell or feel of the product and it was not effective at all. I gave it a try for a good week or two with very little if no results. I will go back to my old faithful, adding olive oil to my standard body lotion. Olive oil gives me instant and lasting results. Sorry to Doves new product but I give this one a thumbs down.

Physicians Formula Plump Potion Lash

Instant Results! Instant Effects! Up to 7x Plumping Effect!
These are the things that attracted me to the new Physicians Formula mascara. I had to have it, who wouldn’t with all of these promises on the box? Many times when I make these purchases I find myself asking how I could be sucked in by great advertising yet again? Not this time. What an awesome product. It gave me everything it claimed to and I was pleasantly surprised. My lashes have been plumped and lengthened as well as looking more voluminous. It is also a buildable formula that allows for multiple coats to reach the desired effect. Inspired by makeup artists, the innovative angled brush coasts every lash from root to tip for the longest and sexiest lashes. I do have one warning though. When putting the wand back in the opening of the tube some of the product still left on the brush gets squeezed off. You will need to wipe it down after each use. That’s actually a good thing though since it shows that the tube does not let in any extra air which could contaminate the product.

I had to search around after finding out about this newbie. I finally got a few tubes at Wal*Mart of all places. I’m sure it will be available all over soon enough.
